Remarkable possibility arises from our community’s greatest asset: our people. Thus, Raise the Bar® commits to supporting Findlay-Hancock County’s workers and residents on their journey to become the best versions of themselves. By investing in employability skill development, we help individuals nurture the skills they need to thrive in the workplace. We want to ignite untapped talent potential and transform classrooms, workplaces, and homes.

Youth HOne employability skills early

FranklinCovey’s Leader in Me (LIM) framework enables our community’s youngest to hone employability skills from an early age. Raise the Bar® strives to support Prek-12th grade students with developing proficiency in 14 critical skillsets, as outlined within the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal. By providing financial support for school districts to acquire LIM coaching, student and teacher learning materials, and student-led action team goods, Raise the Bar® intends to make employability skill development an essential piece of the education landscape.

OUTSTANDING ‘LEADER IN ME’ AWARD

Raise the Bar® partners with Hancock Youth Leadership for this program.

Our community works incredibly hard to build each other up and grow together. We want to highlight and recognize the students, teachers, and faculty who are making a positive impact on our community using their Leader in Me values.

We want the foundation and character-building qualities of the Leader in Me program to stay with the students beyond graduation and into their personal and professional lives. We hope this encourages other schools in Hancock County to jump on the opportunity to have Leader in Me in their schools. We want to show the benefits and improvements students make by having Leader in Me in their schools.

ASSOCIATES ENGAGING WITH WORK AND DRIVING SUCCESS

Poor leadership costs employers significantly. Associate absenteeism due to failed leadership costs employers $2,600 per salaried employee and $3,600 per hourly associate. Furthermore, poor leadership turns off good employees and increases the likelihood of turning away current customers. Finding a new customer costs 5 times more than retaining a current customer.

Raise the Bar® strives to improve associate productivity and employer profits by helping employers invest in their current and future leadership. Deploying a leadership training program designed by employers for employers will ensure associates receive beneficial knowledge and an opportunity to demonstrate their new/refined skills.
